Chicago Chapter
Expanding Perspective Through Experience — bringing transformational opportunities to Chicago's young people.
Expanding Perspective Through Experience
Chicago Is More Than a Destination
It is the newest chapter in our mission to expose young people to experiences, mentors, careers, cultures, and opportunities that expand what they believe is possible for their future.
Following the success of our inaugural Leadership Experience in Atlanta, Outside the Block proudly launched its Chicago Chapter on July 15, 2026.
Our goal is not simply to host events. Our goal is to build a lasting community that connects Chicago's young people with transformational experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity, leadership, and opportunity.
Why Chicago?
One of America's Great Cities
Chicago is home to world class businesses, universities, architecture, sports organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders.
We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to experience the best their city has to offer while connecting with people who can inspire them to dream bigger and pursue new possibilities.
The Chicago Chapter serves as a bridge between students and the incredible opportunities that already exist throughout the city.
Our Vision for Chicago
Opportunities Beyond Everyday Environment
We envision a city where young people regularly experience opportunities beyond their everyday environment. Through partnerships with local businesses, universities, professional athletes, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, students will gain access to experiences that help shape the way they think about themselves and their future.
"I didn't know this was possible."
Every experience is intentionally designed to leave students saying this.
Our First Chicago Experience
Chicago Leadership Experience
On July 15, our first Chicago program brought students from Perspective School together for leadership, mentorship, and one of the city's most iconic experiences — hosted by our partners at First Lady Boat Tour Chicago.

Because One Experience Can Change a Life
When students are exposed to environments they have never experienced, professionals they have never met, and opportunities they never imagined, their perspective changes. Together, we can create those moments.
Our Promise
Every partnership we build.
Every student we serve.
Every city we expand into.
Will always remain rooted in one belief:
