Our Story
Born From a Simple Belief: Exposure Changes Lives
Outside the Block was founded by Tae Daley, M.S. — a former NFL player who understood from personal experience that opportunity is often about access, and that young people can't aspire to what they've never seen.
Growing up, Tae witnessed how a single interaction, a new environment, or a caring mentor could completely shift the direction of a young person's life. He built Outside the Block to systematically create those moments for youth who need them most.
From taking students to their first fine dining experience to organizing educational travel and leadership workshops, every program is rooted in the belief that exposure is one of the most powerful forms of education.
In May 2026, Outside the Block completed its inaugural Youth Leadership Dining Experience in Atlanta — and proved that the mission works. Students left standing taller. Mentors left inspired. Parents witnessed transformation in real time. This was only the beginning.

Tae Daley, M.S.

Tae Daley, M.S.'s journey from the football field to nonprofit leadership is rooted in purpose. As a former NFL player, Tae experienced firsthand how access, mentorship, and new environments can transform a person's outlook and trajectory.
After his professional football career, Tae turned his attention to the communities that shaped him. He recognized a critical gap: many young people were growing up without exposure to the professional settings, cultural experiences, and diverse environments that build confidence and expand possibility.
Driven by this insight, Tae founded Outside the Block — an organization built to give youth the kind of experiential access that can change everything. His goal is simple but powerful: help young people see that their world is bigger than their block.
