Atlanta Youth Leadership Dining Experience
A night of mentorship, confidence, and transformation — inside one of Atlanta's most iconic restaurants. This was only the beginning.
The Purpose
More Than a Dinner. A Defining Moment.
The Atlanta Pilot was Outside the Block's inaugural Youth Leadership Dining Experience — a carefully curated evening designed to give young people access to professional environments, mentorship conversations, and experiences they couldn't access on their own.
Held at The Sun Dial Restaurant atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta — one of the city's most iconic locations — the event paired students with professional mentors for guided conversation, fine dining, and leadership development.
Every detail was intentional. The environment, the mentors, the conversations, the food. Because for many of these students, this was the first time they had ever been in a room like that. And that changes everything.

Inside the Experience

Paired with professionals across industries, students had meaningful, guided conversations about careers, purpose, and next steps.
Confidence Building
Many students had never been to a restaurant of this caliber. The experience challenged comfort zones and built real self-assurance.
Exposure to New Environments
The Sun Dial Restaurant — rotating atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza — provided a setting unlike anything most students had experienced.
Trying New Foods
Students explored menus with curiosity and courage, discovering new flavors and learning that trying new things is a form of growth.
Guided Conversations
Structured discussion prompts helped students open up about their goals, challenges, and dreams in a safe, supportive setting.

Mentor Perspectives
Mentor Reflections
"Watching these students step into that room and own it — seeing them go from nervous to proud — that's why I do this. That's the mission in action."

"I came to give, but I left inspired. The potential in that room was extraordinary. These kids just need the door opened for them."

What Parents Said
"I just wanted to reach out and say thank you so much for the opportunity and experience you provided for Talib and the other kids. I'm so grateful that he was chosen to meet you and the other mentors. Talib truly enjoyed himself and had a wonderful experience. He especially enjoyed speaking with the female doctor he was sitting next to. Their conversation really inspired him and gave him guidance on the direction he should take as he continues exploring potential career paths and interests."
Fatoumata Hydara
"Tae, I thank you for giving Joshua and AJ the experience they had yesterday. They came in talking about it. It gave them a new high to another world out there. I DO THANK YOU."

The Future
This Was Only the Beginning.
The Atlanta pilot proved that this works. Students left standing taller. Mentors left inspired. Parents witnessed transformation in real time.
Outside the Block is just getting started. More cities. More students. More moments that change trajectories. The question now is: will you be part of it?
